Welcome to WikIBEST! This is a resource for members of IBEST (Initiative for Bioinformatics and Evolutionary Studies) at the University of Idaho.

You can see the current events page for this week's list of seminars and regular meetings.

IBEST Users

If you are unable to connect to any of the IBEST Computers using SSH then you may need to get your IP address unblocked. In order to do this you should email Rob Lyon or Trent Nelson the contents of this link] This wiki contains alot of information provided by our users.

To find information on how to use the systems or specific programs, use the search feature located on the left.

Computational Facilities

All of the IBEST Systems use Unix based operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Solaris). This means that you will need to know at least some basic UNIX functionality. A good UNIX tutorial for the beginner can be found here.

Navigate to the Clusters page to view a list of tutorials and utilities related to running on the IBEST Beowulf Clusters. For assistance with the utilities or tutorials contact the Cluster Administrator. These will grow as we continue to write more in-house utilities and create more tutorials.

You may connect to the IBEST servers using ssh or sftp.
